Medical microbiology

The main focus of the medical microbiology group is on developing strategies, competence and diagnostic tools for monitoring and preventing infections of environmental origin. We carry out our own laboratory analyses of pathogenic bacteria, but we also collaborate closely with the microbiology departments in St. Olav's Hospital in Trondheim and NTNU. We are continually developing new methodologies for the identification of infectious strains of bacteria in the environment, particularly those of Pseudomonas and Legionella.
