Basin Modelling

Our main research area is the development and application of mathematical models for intra-basinal processes on geological time scales, starting with organic carbon deposition, followed by hydrocarbon generation and expulsion, and finally migration and accumulation. In addition, hydrocarbon generation kinetics are analysed in our laboratory.

New study for the 22nd licensing round. Results available in August.

Integrated Norwegian Sea Study - Completed
Final results of the study are now available and can be immediately delivered.

Linked facies model development for simulation of organic carbon deposition
A new development phase for OF-Mod has now started. OF-Mod (Organic Facies Model) simulates the deposition and burial of organic carbon in the marine environment in 3D. The simulation results can be used to predict the spatial and temporal occurrence of source rocks.
