The official opening of SINTEF SeaLab
On August 9th, The Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, Svein Ludvigsen, opens SINTEF SeaLab – SINTEF’s brand new laboratory facilities in the harbour area of Trondheim.
SINTEF SeaLab’s different laboratories will be equipped with a continuous supply of high quality natural sea water and waste water system for pollutants and are certified for work with higher organisms.
The activities will basically be divided into two directions:
- Marine environmental technology with a focus on experimental, monitoring and modelling studies connected with both acute and regular releases of oil an chemicals to the marine and terrestrial environment.
- Fisheries and aquaculture where the focus is on exploiting renewable marine resources throughout the marine value chain - from the biological basis of marine production through aquaculture and fish capture techniques to processing and distribution.
If you want to know more about SINTEF SeaLab, and about the opening ceremony that takes place on August 9th, ask the personnel at our stand.
