Several vacuum furnaces are available for high temperature experiments. The furnaces are generally heated with graphite elements, so that it is possible to operate at up to 2400 °C. A typical sample size is 40 mm in diameter and 60 mm high. Various options are available, such as continuous weight measurement (TGA) or direct quenching from the hot zone.
