The ICT eHealth groups scientific focus:
- We:
• Have our scientific focus in ICT R&D:
o Computer supported collaborative work
o Model driven development
o Artificial intelligence
o End user development
• Work in the domain of eHealth focusing on the welfare technology/ambient assisted living.
• Use rigorous scientific research methodology in evaluating effects of our focus areas on developers and end users. When evaluating with end users, we seek strategic alliances with relevant fields of expertise (sosio-technical, organisational, societal and medical).
• We are committed to develop, use and contribute to Open Source and Open Standards.

The eHealth group’s Scientific Disciplines
Domain and science
As shown in figure 2 below, we balance our work between RIGOR and RELEVANCE. Rigor is achieved by using proper scientific methodology in all that we do, producing results that are of value to our scientific disciplines. Relevance is achieved by applying and specialising our competence in the domain of ambient assisted living building technology for a better society.

Domain and Science
The figure above illustrates how we start out using our core competence, select parts of it, refines the parts selected and evaluate the effects of using it.
Our objective is to be an INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED RESEARCH PARTNER in our fields of expertise
By being internationally recognised, we understand (prioritised list):
1. Our results (software, standards) are used by industry and research.
2. Our publications are cited by others.
3. We are offered projects directly (e.g. from industry).
4. We are invited as key note speakers to conferences.
5. We are invited into EU/NFR project proposals.
6. We are invited in as editors in journals, to expert assignments (such as advisory boards) and standards work.
7. We have academic positions at universities and are invited to write books and compendiums based on our work.
THESE FACTORS WILL BE QUANTIFIED Q1 2010.
