The environment and the building process
is important to take climate and the environment into consideration in the building process. We have both long experience and excellent knowledge of the various players involved in the construction process. This means that we can adapt how we transfer our knowledge and our methods and tools.

Mads Mysen and Kristin Holthe are working on
the GLITNE project, which documents the
environmental impact of buildings.

The research group can point to a high level of expertise and long experience in the fields of environment, climate and the building process.

We can provide advice on selecting environmentally friendly materials in the building process, and offer environmental evaluations of entire buildings or of their components.

We collaborate closely in projects with other research groups, other SINTEF units, other research centres and companies and organisations in the building and construction sector.

The GLITNE R&D project, which is owned by Snøhetta, is led and managed by us. The project is developing tools that put a price on the environmental impact of building projects. The environmental costs are “baked into” the price of construction materials or of the whole building, and the price will be lowest where the impact is least.
