Expertise
SINTEF Concrete cooperates with the concrete and construction industry in developing new materials, products and solutions. Our concrete department has 20 employees with a broad expertise in concrete materials and structures. SINTEF operates projects in countries all over the world, and our ambition is to increase the level of our international activity. We tackle the challenges of the major companies in the construction industry as well as the problems facing a local aggregate supplier. Our activities are divided in four areas:
• Chemistry and microstructure
• Durability, maintenance and repair
• Physical and mechanical properties
• Structural analysis and testing
Laboratories
Our research is based on high quality laboratory investigations. The laboratories are operated by SINTEF in close cooperation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In addition to the research activity, our laboratories have a considerable activity on documentation of materials and products.
