Appointed Notified Body for conventional rail systems

The Centre for Railway Certification at SINTEF ICT has received a new appointed as Notified Body; now for conventional rail systems. Before SINTEF has been appointed Notified Body for high-speed rail systems. The appointments are according to

• Council Directive 2001/16/EF for the interoperability in the European conventional rail system. Appointed September 27, 2005.
• Council Directive 96/48/EC for the interoperability in the trans-European high-speed rail system. Appointed December 16, 2003.

SINTEF can now assess and certify safety and interoperability for rail systems in all EU/EEA countries.
